Project at a Glance
Client: Police & Fire Federal Credit Union
Architect: Charles Matsinger Associates
Location: Philadelphia, PA
The two phase project, designed by Charles Matsinger Associates and Eustace Engineering, involved the construction of a new bank branch and parking lot for the Police and Fire Federal Credit Union. The first phase involved the demolition of an existing one-story building and the construction of the 4,800 square foot bank branch with 26 parking spaces. The second phase involved the demolition of an existing four-story office building adjacent to the new bank branch to provide an expanded parking lot that could accommodate up to 52 vehicles. In order to comply with Philadelphia Water Department Stormwater Management Requirements, the basement of the four-story building was converted into a retention basin where ninety percent of the parking lot and rooftop stormwater gets diverted, collected and absorbed into the ground rather, than entering the Philadelphia Water Department combined sewer system.
