Location: Philadelphia, PA
This state-of-the-art site improvement and landscape operation, designed by the Groundswell Design Group, involved modifications to 14,000 square feet of space. The existing grounds were transformed into a new outdoor dining and open-air food marketplace, harboring food and beverage trucks, outdoor seating, wood deck walkways, a dry creek bed and various landscape features. The boardwalk-style pathway seamlessly connects the food truck and seating areas, which accommodate over 200 people. The dry creek bed doubles as a relaxation zone and play space for kids with natural elements about for sitting and climbing. A 132 foot mural was drafted on the old monorail building and serves as a feature art piece that ties together this enchanting and delightful Urban Green Space.
Categories of work included site demolition, erosion control, tree protection, tree and shrub removal, site excavation and backfill, steel edging, asphalt paving, gravel placement, topsoil placement, nature pave, boulder placement, timber retaining walls, wood fencing, metal handrail, carpentry, wood decking, painting, plumbing and electrical.
